26.02.2008 Thaimaassa arvioidaan elävän 2,5 miljoonaa sortoa ja köyhyyttä paennutta burmalaista, joista vain viidennes on rekisteröitynyt Thaimaan asukkaaksi. Pakolaisnaiset ovat täysin työnantajien armoilla, koska heillä ei ole samoja kansalaisoikeuksia kuin thaimaalaisilla.
